Affiliated with the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, the Society for Political Theory (Politika Teorisi Topluluğu) is a student association promoting undergraduate and postgraduate studies in political theory at Hacettepe University. PTT carries out activities in humanities and social sciences with a significant interest in developing the value of solidarity and mutual understanding.
As a critical contributor of the Political Theory Network (POLITEIA) and the Consortium for Research in Political Theory (CRIPT), the Society of Political Theory offers a free platform for students and academics from different backgrounds and disciplines. The Society for Political Theory organizes several panels and sessions on subjects related to the field of political theory and practice as part of the central theme of the Annual Meeting and International Conference of the Consortium for Research in Political Theory.
Rizom is the double-blind peer-reviewed academic journal of the Society which is scheduled to be published annually. The details about paper and special issue submissions to Rizom will be available here soon.
PTT regularly organizes thematic atelier activities on political theory, psychoanalysis, literature studies, social theory, and cultural studies. PTT also assembles Writing Ateliers to promote research and publication in the field of political theory. The schedule for the PTT Summer Ateliers is going to published in late June.
The Society for Political Theory promotes the circulation of critical and innovative ideas by collaborative reading activities. Each reading group is moderated by an academic who has an esteemed command of the text analyzed. Reading Groups are the collaborative forums for facilitating participants with interpretative and analytical skills and capabilities to grasp a better understanding of the debates and critical issues in political theory.
The Society for Political Theory organizes micro-film sessions on selected topics to promote the exchange of critical ideas and interpretative practices. Each micro-film session is bound by complementary text analysis.
